Hi all. I just got home from visiting a friend. When I turned on my braillenote I noticed the braille display was verry hard to read. I put it through the excerise mode and that helped some but not much. My friend lives in a totally different climate than me. So i'm wondering if that could have something to do with my braille display messing up. Any help on fixing this issue would be welcome. Thanks.

i don't think climate would matter, give it a little time, otherwise humanware will have to look at it

You could wipe it down with a damp, note the word damp, as you don't want any water causing damage, rag to try to clean it.
Also, try turning it upside down and see if the pins fall into the 6 celled position like they should. If there's nothing obstructing the pins, they should feel semi loose, and all the dots should be visible. If this is not the case try to see if you can tap the dots that aren't, to see if you can loosen them. Just the suggestions that come off the top of my head.

What you want to do is hold the unit up to your mouth and blow on the display, moving the unit back and forth. There may have been crums stuck in the display. also, are you sure, if you have an MPower, that the intensity is set to the highest level? I used to whipe my unit down with a damp towel, but found it never did any good. I've had this problem many many times, and I've had it in ice cold rooms and steaming hot cars. I've dropped it on concrete floors among other things. Of course, however my unit is about 8 years old and I think since I can just keep it, I'll retire it. I have a classic. Since I don't know how old the unit is and things I've mentioned I can't really give any more advice. In my case, I waited till the last possible minute to send my unit in because I've used it to death. Of course I've had other issues such as dots randomly jump up and down without any real rhyme or reason I can't explain that. I hope this gets your display a bit more readable...
